The Future of Technology

Why don’t we have flying cars? because people won’t drive fly them? why don’t we have a fridge that goes shopping without us? because that would freak people out? Maybe a little.

I think it’s because Apple hasn’t made them yet. I read a very interesting article the other day about what paypal sees as the future of payment. A couple are walking down the street and see a animated movie poster. they touch the poster and a box comes up where they can order tickets. A man at a bar puts his drink down, the bar top shows a ring around his glass with a menu next to it to pay. Is this stuff to expensive? Why isn’t this stuff out there yet? or at least not in mass quantities. Continue reading »

Google Chrome For Mac

I am coming to you live from Google Chrome for Mac. I have like 10 tabs open and it hasn’t crashed yet. There are some features that don’t work but it is functional enough to browes without flash(no YouTube). Google considers this an Alpha and says not to download it unless you don’t want to use it. I only got it to see how fast I could get it to crash.

I am thinking of installing Linux on my laptop that I never use and get that version of Chrome.

Dimdim and Yuuguu

At work we use WebEx to do webniars and service customer computers. Yesterday I found Dimdim and today I found Yuuguu. Dimdim is a free* web conferencing service that beats out what WebEx tries to make you pay for. Yuuguu is “the other half of WebEx” as I told a friend via email eariler today. There is some overlap in features but Yuuguu has Remote Desktop Sharing, not just viewing, and this is important for what we use WebEx for.

*There is a Pro version of Dimdim and Yuuguu available

Pandora has a new box

pandora.com is just about the cooliest thing ever. You type in a band or song and it generates an internet radio station based off that. It can get a bit repetitive but then you just pick a new band or song and it grows from there. You can also mix a few of your stations to get some veriaty.

Coding Leet Stuff

Today I setup a blog for all things programming. I wanted a place I could talk about coding without having to explain my self. So I made a second blog for just that. Coding Leet Stuff is the place to go if you want to hear about all my current projects.

One Day at a Time

I have had a hard time living. It is not that I have had a hard live. No. My life has been easy. Too easy. It is sad for me to look back and go “wow, that was easy”. Not because it was easy but because when you have an easy life for the first 20 years after which you enter “the real world” and things don’t seem so easy. I guess the question is was life really easy those first 20 years or were you just not really living.

I recently watched a documentary by Ben Stein named “EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed”. It is very interesting to say the least. It is about Intelligent Design or ID. It starts out with Ben talking about how he has always had great respect for science and never realized there was such a big issue between religion and science. He soon finds out that the freedom of new ideas in science is being cutoff. He finds many people who have been fired for just mentioning ID. He also spends a lot of time on Darwinism and Evolution. The best part is when one guy suggests that the first cell grew “on the backs of crystals.” I think everyone should take a look so I won’t give anymore away but it really is moving.

I have been having a hard time lately with life. It seems so hopeless. The world is going down hill fast and it seems I am to small to stop this avalanche of moral decline. I go to work and people just don’t care. How do you get motivated when everyone around you isn’t? What can you feed off of?

Ben Stein really challeges everyone to stand up and be heard. Can he really do it all? Can I make a difference? I think the real answer is we all need to let God do what he does best through us, the impossible. This movie has revived a fighting Spirit in me and I hope I can snap out of this acoma I am in and follow this old path I once knew so well.

Movie: Juno

WOW! Just wow. This movie has everything that makes a good movie. Juno is about a teen pregnancy with a twist. What is the twist you say, I say go watch this movie. It gives a great alternative to abortion and has some other interesting thoughts on the whole range of topics.

I will work on better explaining why movies are good to me but right now stop reading this blog and go see this movie…

…your still here? Good because that was a joke. Ok, now I am done.

NOTE: if your just seeing a white background on the whole screen(and no gray) then your monitors contracts might be a bit high.

The Journey

Everyone is on a journey.

We are born. We live. We die.

I know, it’s sad when we die. But as a great man once said, “death is but the next great adventure to the well ordered mind” but lets get back to the point.
